Canberra: terminal gate ULP 234.3 c/L today; five-year low 141.3 in December 2021, high 249.0 in March 2026.

Canberra paid 244.9 c/L for unleaded in the week to 4 October 2026, which makes it 7th of eight capitals and 7.9 cents above Sydney.

The national figure for the same week was 237.3: Canberra sits 7.6 cents over it ($4.56 per 60 litres).

Canberra has no fuel terminal: everything sold in the ACT arrives by road, and AIP publishes no Canberra terminal gate price, so this page uses Sydney's. That is one reason the ACT pays more; the ACT Legislative Assembly has also held an inquiry into fuel pricing in the territory.

ACT servos report to the NSW FuelCheck system, which the territory kept after a pilot; the open monthly history therefore covers Canberra station by station, and it is rebuilt here into a daily average.

Wholesale against the bowser in Canberra

The terminal gate price behind Canberra's bowsers averaged 232.7 c/L over the same week, leaving a gross margin of 12.2 cents; on diesel the margin was 25.9. The terminal moved +1.2 cents in seven days and +33.5 in 28.

How far can the terminal swing? In Canberra it has covered 141.3 (7 December 2021) to 249.0 (26 March 2026) in five years. Today's 234.3 is marked on the dipstick, and the retail average tends to arrive there a week or two later (signal by city).
